Nozzles are often used in industry to improve efficiency when blowing with compressed air. To assure the best possible efficiency, it is important to install the correct type of nozzle.

A big part of the nozzles that are used in industry today, for blowing with compressed air, are fluid nozzles. Fluid nozzles are not designed to be used with compressed air. This means that both the result and efficiency can be negatively effected.

It is easy to interfuse the different types of nozzles, since they are very similar looking. Though, the air nozzles and the fluid nozzles have very different attributes. Air nozzles are specially engineered for optimal compressed air efficiency, and fluid nozzles are specially designed for liquid properties. A nozzle that is specially designed for liquids should therefore not be used for blowing with compressed air, and the other way around. There are many advantages with using the correct type of air nozzles when blowing with compressed air.

Advantages with using air nozzles, when blowing with compressed air:

  • Lowers the sound level up to 70%
  • Reduces energy usage up to 50%
  • Increase the efficiency by 50%

compared to fluid nozzles.
To improve the efficiency when blowing with compressed air, all fluid nozzles should be replaced with air nozzles.

Example from industry:

Efficient clean blowing in paint booths

Compressed air is often used in paint booths to blow away powder. If the powder is not removed properly “powder infection” can occur, and there is also a risk that the powder paint will harden on the paint guns. This will cause problems in the future with upcoming paintings. Paint boxes are one of many cases where fluid nozzles are used for blowing with compressed air. This causes high sound levels and increases the compressed air consumption. By installing air nozzles for blowing with compressed air it is possible to cut the energy consumption in half and lower the sound level by 10 dB(A), which the ear perceives as a halving of the sound level. This is possible since the air nozzle technology uses the compressed air in the best possible way.

There are big potentials to improve the sound level, energy optimisation and efficiency, if air nozzles for compressed air are installed. Find the correct air nozzle by measuring the pipe-dimension of your present solution.
