In many timber processing industries, there can be potentially hazardous issues when dealing with sawdust and wood dust, which can be generated by the processing of timber, this wood dust is often associated with some ill-causing effects in people, including eye and nose irritation, respiratory issues and most importantly of all, presenting a significant fire hazard.🪵🔥

One simple method of reducing the human impact of the wood dust concerning many sites, is by using nozzles at key stages of the process. Capturing dust particles as they are form and eliminate them from becoming airborne thereby decreasing the overall impact and build up of these dusts. A side effect of this is also by keeping these dusts moist they can be easily removed from building up and reduces the chance they may catch fire.

Here, nozzles such as a BETE air atomising assembly - XA series can be employed to mix two fluids (air and water). Finely atomising and delivering water to the target area, thereby applying a topical treatment to a problematic area, without wetting or dampening the material directly should this be preferable.

By using air atomising assemblies, little water or compressed air is used effectively and can actually help remedy existing nozzle setups which may overspray, use too much water or compressed air, or eliminate manual handling processes, helping automation. These nozzles can also be used for applying markings and dyes or oils to the various products as needed which is an added benefit as they reduce the overall amount of product sprayed.
