Fire/Government – Oceania, Customised Washdown Guns
An Oceanic Fire Authority contacted us here at SNE to secure a very specific washdown gun for cleaning up and decontamination of Firefighters after calls, as they are often exposed to carcinogenic debris and more on a consistent basis.
They required a washdown gun suited for their application that would use as ‘little water as possible’ but still get the job done quickly and effectively. They also needed it rated at 10.5bar (160 psi) due to the truck pump pressures, but needed it also to not be a straight jet so they could avoid any eye injuries that may occur with a straight pattern. Another requirement was for the washdown gun that it had to pass, was their regular pressure test regime. We partnered with our exclusive supplier Strahman and they were able to certify this special rating for us. ✅
The SNE AU team including Dirk, Russ and Fabian have helped us with this special version of the Strahman Mini-70 complete with reduced flow rate and positional stop so that the gun will only produce a 60° fan spray pattern when in a fully compressed position.
We supplied the washdown gun complete with a hose assembly and a 70mm adaptor as seen in the picture above.
So far, we've supplied a large number of sets for this trial, and if it rolls out nationally upon successful completion of the trials, hundreds to thousands will need to be supplied! 🙌
